Secondhome takes the security and privacy of its customers and therefore their personal information very seriously. We follow strict security procedures in the storage and disclosure of personal information provided to us to prevent unauthorized access. Personal data is held in our contact database because of work we have undertaken or are currently performing, or because our customers have indicated that they would be interested in receiving information from us. For this purpose, we keep customer contact details and the history of our customer relationship. This allows us to effectively manage our customer relationships and target items of interest so that customers do not receive unwanted material. In accordance with their rights under the Act, customers can request changes to the personal information stored or stop receiving direct marketing materials.
Secondhome does not sell, rent or process the personal information we hold. Being now located outside the European Economic Area, your data is transferred outside the EEA but we apply exactly the same rules as when we were subject to European rules on the protection of personal data. Information may, in the normal course of business, also be passed on to our contractors, which may involve the transfer of data outside the EEA. This happens when we arrange a visit with our partners in the country where the property is located. We will recommend mortgage brokers, currency brokers and notaries/legal advisers. Responsibility
Secondhome provides and transmits to its customers the information received by a real estate agent (with Carte Professionelle in France) or a promoter. For this reason, Secondhome takes no responsibility for any statements, marketing materials or representations they convey. The contracts and deeds of sale signed at the notary constitute the only valid legal basis for the acquisition. For this reason, Secondhome always recommends that clients take the services of a notary representing their interests or another legal representative and base their acquisition on the content of these contracts. Secondhome also strongly recommends that customers view properties or sites before purchasing, and Secondhome will assist in arranging these viewings.
Secondhome Rentals provides and transmits the information received by a certified agent holding the appropriate insurance and documentation from the travel agency in their respective country. For this reason, Secondhome Rentals takes no responsibility for any statements, marketing materials or representations they relay. The contract signed with the rental agency is the only valid legal basis for the rental. For this reason, Secondhome Rentals always recommends customers to review the rental agreement carefully and base their rental on the contents of this agreement.
